About the Golf Network
The
Golf Network was founded in 1995 as the first of its kind. This original group of like-minded, independent golf clubs combined forces to provide reciprocal playing benefits to all of its club members. Whilst some clubs have come and gone following changes of ownership, there remain some founder members who continue to recognise the collective advantages. Amongst these, the principal benefit is in providing a genuine, cost-effective marketing opportunity for each member club to provide a powerful incentive for golfers to choose membership of a
Golf Network club over a neighbouring club.
The
Golf Network gives both golf clubs and members the opportunity to take advantage of being part of a growing, mutually beneficial network of clubs across England. The interest from new clubs to join the
Golf Network continues to grow, with the added attraction of the financial advantages of group purchasing. Additionally there is the increased marketing potential for third party sponsors to be able to reach a combined membership base in excess of 5000 golfers.
Only clubs of a certain standard are eligible to join the
Golf Network and following an application to join, they must meet the required standards of course and playing conditions and clubhouse facilities. All the clubs listed are happy to meet these standards and adhere to network terms and conditions.
The depth of the
Golf Network clubs allows members to have a variety of enjoyable courses to choose from as a direct benefit of their membership. With increasing numbers of golfers electing not to be a member of a golf club, the more benefits that can be included within a standard annual subscription will help network clubs to retain a competitive edge over their neighbours. And compete with the other networks and reciprocal arrangements that do exist in various parts of the country.
Some clubs feel there is no mileage in being seen to be giving away ‘free golf’ but this is to miss the point of the
Golf Network completely. Each club retains full daily control over how many tee-times are made available for visiting network members. And as most clubs have plenty of spare tee-times available throughout the week it is no hardship to welcome visitors from another club. The principal benefit remains as a valuable tool for clinching membership sales. This can be confirmed as a reality by any
Golf Network club manager. If you are interested in joining the network, contact Ken Thornton on
